Overview Edit

The PEGASUS Program was a series of 10 missions flown by MSA astronauts over a two and a half year period begining in 2014 along with two unmaned, and undesignated, missions to certify the spacecraft. The goal of the program was flight demonstration and proof of concept for manned spaceflight. While almost universally successful the Pegasus program remained significantly behind similair flight programs launched by FASTA and spurred heavy investment in next generation booster technology.

Mission Craft Edit

Main article: Delta IV

The Pegasus Missions all utilized the Delta IV system as the primary launch vehicle though the exact configuration would change as the program progressed. Pegasus 1 thru 6 flew in the 4250-Heavy configuration while the final missions would use the 4260-Hevay configuration after the RL-60 2nd stage engine became certified for manned flight in 2015.
